Biography

Dr. Thorsten Siegmund is a distinguished Endocrinologist with extensive experience and expertise in the field of diabetes, hormone disorders, and metabolic medicine. Currently serving as the Head Physician․

Prior to his current role, Dr. Siegmund held the position of Deputy Medical Director and Senior Consultant at the Department for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Vascular Medicine at Teaching Hospital Munich Bogenhausen, Germany, from 2005 to 2016. During this tenure, he played a pivotal role in shaping the department’s clinical services and research initiatives.

Dr. Siegmund embarked on his journey in endocrinology as a Consultant at the same institution in 2003, where he quickly established himself as a proficient clinician and leader. His commitment to advancing patient care and medical knowledge led him to pursue a Senior Physician position at the Department for Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism, Medical Department I, University Hospital Frankfurt/Main, Germany, from 2001 to 2002.

With a passion for research and academic excellence, Dr. Siegmund undertook a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research, University of Cambridge, UK, from 1999 to 2001, supported by the prestigious European Union Marie Curie Fellowship. During this time, he also served as an Honorary Clinical Fellow (Registrar/Physician) at the Department of Medicine & Clinical Biochemistry, Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, UK, further enriching his clinical experience and scientific acumen.

Dr. Siegmund’s academic journey began with his Medical School training at the University of Ulm/Donau, Germany, and the University of London, UK (St. Bartholomew´s), where he earned his Doctorate in Medicine in 1994. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated unwavering dedication to patient care, education, and research.
